Political race card across Washington Co., April 2022, Spring Election and 2 primaries in February 2022

January 5, 2022 – Washington Co., WI – It was Tuesday, January 4, 2022 when signatures were filed for various political races across Washington County, WI.

We’re still cobbling together a list but here are some of the races and how the ballot card will measure up April 5, 2022 and at least for one school district a primary election in February.

Erin School

There is one school board member up for election in the Erin School District. The seat carries a 3-year term.

Germantown School District

In the Germantown School District there are three seats up for election including: Ray Borden, Brian Medved, and Michael Loth. Each seat carries a 3-year term. There is a 3-way race for Seat No. 2 and there will be a primary on February 15, 2022.

Kewaskum School District

Kewaskum School District. Three candidates have filed to run for two open seats.

The ballot draw was conducted January 5, 2022, at the District Office, 1455 School Street, Kewaskum, WI by Lindsey Zarling, Tammy Guth and Lisa Heiser. Lindsey Zarling held the basket of names, Tammy Guth drew each name and Lisa Heiser recorded the order drawn.  Julie Thoreson was also present for the draw.

The official order for the 2022 Spring Election (April 5, 2022) is:

Hartford Union High School

In the Hartford Union High School District there are six candidates running for two seats. The ballot order is as follows. Each seat carries a 3-year term. A primary will be held Tuesday, February 15, 2022 to trim the field to four candidates.

Jonathan Lobert

Slinger School District

There are four candidates running for three open seats in the Slinger School District. Each seat carries a 3-year term. The candidates are listed below in the order they will appear on the April 5, 2022, ballot. No primary is needed.

West Bend School District logo

There are four candidates vying for two open seats on the West Bend School Board. In no particular order the candidate are John Donaldson, Erin Dove, Melanie Ehrgott, and Paul Fischer.  A draw for ballot placement for the April 5, 2022 election still needs to be conducted.

In Washington County there are 28 candidates running for 21 seats on the county board. Click HERE to review the challenges. There will be no primary. Each seat carries a 2-year term.

In the City of Hartford there are 3 alderman seats up for election as well as the mayor’s seat. None of the incumbents are being contested. Each seat carries a 3-year term.

Interesting to note, Todd Bultman did turn in over 200 signatures on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 to run for mayor. However, after the signatures were reviewed more than 9 were dismissed because the person lived in the Town of Hartford or signed as a business owner in the city or the signature and address were unreadable. Michalak will not face a challenge as mayor, nor will he be challenged for his seat as a County Board Supervisor.

American Commercial Real Estate

In the City of West Bend the odd-numbered aldermanic districts are up for election. There is only one contest in District 5 as Jed Dolnick will be challenged by James Knepler.
